Rodrigo Guth Returns to Fortuna Sittard After Brief Stint in Argentina
Fortuna Sittard has re-signed Brazilian defender Rodrigo Guth, who had a short stint with Telleres in Argentina. Guth, who previously played for Atalanta and NEC Nijmegen, has signed a one-year deal with the club.
Progress in the Eredivisie
Before his first stint at Fortuna Sittard in 2022, Guth had experience in Italy. He was signed by Atalanta as a young player from Brazilian club Cortiba, but did not make a first team appearance for the club. Instead, he played the 2020/2021 season on loan at Pescara, where he made 25 appearances. The following season, he had his first taste of Dutch football, playing on loan at NEC Nijmegen. After 24 appearances and one goal, Guth left Atalanta permanently to join Fortuna Sittard. Guth played 104 games for Fortuna Sittard and scored eight goals.
Guth joins a Fortuna Sittard side that have drawn one and won one of their opening two games in the Eredivisie. This weekend they will face AZ Alkmaar, the side leading the way early on with two wins and six goals scored.
