Fortuna Sittard have unveiled a unique cup kit for the 26-27 season. The sponsorless shirt is a direct tribute to predecessor club Fortuna '54's 1957 KNVB Cup win and marks the first dedicated cup kit in the club's history.

The kit was created in collaboration with design agency 51North and technical supplier Robey. The white base with broad horizontal red and blue stripes across the chest is an exact reference to the shirt worn by Fortuna '54 during the historic final. Long sleeves and a retro polo collar enhance the classic feel.

All commercial sponsors voluntarily stepped aside, leaving the front completely clean. Only the Robey branding and the club badge are subtly embroidered in tonal white. A special Fortuna '54 heritage tag sits at the bottom hem and an embroidered depiction of the KNVB Cup is located below the back collar. The shirt is worn with matching white shorts and socks.

The release coincides with the 70th anniversary of the cup triumph. "We are proud to present the cup kit," Fortuna Sittard said. The club emphasised it is a tribute to the history and the players who won the trophy.

Practical details

Supporters can try on the shirt from today, September 26, between 11:00 and 16:00 in the fanshop in Sittard. The kit is also available via the webshop. The first round of the Eurojackpot KNVB Cup is scheduled for October 27, 28 and 29, where the new kit will make its debut.

The launch comes as Fortuna Sittard are enjoying a strong start to the Eredivisie season. Manager Danny Buijs's side sit sixth with 13 points from seven games. Their last victory was a 0-1 away win at Willem II on September 19. The next league fixture is a home match against FC Twente on October 10, a key test against the fourth-placed side. Fans can view the full squad and fixtures on the club site.
